DAT aims at raising awareness of symptoms, causes, treatment, and management of diabetes and other NCDs. This targets to improve the total well-being of people at risk of developing or suffering from diabetes in Kenya, especially among counties with the highest prevalence rates of these diseases. DAT will design projects to address the alarming rise of diabetes which is a challenge to public health through raising awareness of diabetes. DAT programs will facilitate the localization of health education, hence helping citizens to understand their roles in the prevention and management of NCDs. This will go a long way in strengthening the sustainability of the County Health Department.
